About
Thirty years of taking structures apart
I left school at sixteen and started on a building site. Nobody taught me how money worked, so I taught myself — first by watching who ended up with it, then by working out why.
That became one of the largest mortgage consultancies in the UK: more than fifty brokers, £11 billion of mortgage funding arranged. Then a financial management company — forty staff, £7 million turnover. Then property development, including Project of the Year 2023. Along the way, over £400 million structured across property and finance.
Some people call this financial engineering. In plain terms it means taking a business and a portfolio apart, working out where the money is leaking and where it is stuck, and rebuilding the legal structure underneath so that it stops happening.
The difference
Four professionals, no coordination
Most business owners have four professionals and no coordination. Your accountant sees the filings. Your broker sees the lending. Your solicitor sees the documents. Your adviser sees the pension. Each of them is doing their job properly, and not one of them is looking at the whole thing.
The only person who has ever seen all of it is you, and you are too busy running the business to sit down and look. That is the job I do.
I am not a tax adviser, a solicitor or an accountant, and this is not regulated financial advice. I design the structure; the regulated pieces are carried out by regulated firms, separately engaged and separately responsible. Over thirty years I have built a working panel of specialists, and where a piece of work needs an authorised person, I tell you and one is engaged to do it.
You do not get a strategy document. You get the structure itself, put in place and operating.
